Blackjack rules: how it's played

The goal is simple: get your hand closer to 21 than the dealer, without exceeding a value of 21. If you go over 21, you are «bust» (bust) and lose the round immediately – regardless of what the dealer holds. You are not playing against the other players at the table, but exclusively against the dealer.

Card values

Cards 2 through 10 count their face value. Jack, Queen and King (J, Q, K) each count 10. The ace counts as either 1 or 11 – whichever is more favourable for your hand. A hand with an ace counted as 11 is called a «soft» hand (soft hand).

  • Stand – hold, take no more cards.
